UGID

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A UGID is a numerical identity, which corresponds to a user and group identity of a Unix or Unix-like system.

Traditional Unix numbering schemes have separate numeric values for users and groups. In a Common Numbering Scheme (such as that used by Naked Lady), the user identity and group identity correspond for each system account. This means that for each user name on the system, there is a group of the same name and the same identity number.
