Uganda Cowries were the first stamps of Uganda. Produced in 1895, they were made on a typewriter. Their values were in cowries (seashells), and the design was simple, just the initials of the jurisdiction and a number for the denomination. The paper used was extremely thin. Only a small number seem to have survived.
