UFO

UFO or unidentified flying object, means any airborne object whose nature is not readily known.

The term UFO is also used by some to describe what they say are spaceships which supposedly transport extraterrestrial aliens. UFOs are sometimes described as flying saucers which was a term originating in a claimed sighting of a UFO by Kenneth Arnold on June 24, 1947, near Mount Rainier, Washington. This event is generally considered the beginning of modern UFO interest.
