Uday Kiran (born 1980) is an Indian Film Actor from the state of Andhra Pradesh. He has acted in the films of Telugu and Tamil.

Uday Kiran is a youthful and boyish actor of Tollywood. Udaykiran was born on June 26th,1980. His father is V.V.K.Murthy, an employee at the Town's airport & his mother Nirmala is an house wife. He has one older sister Sridevi married with two children. He attended local K.V.Picket school and Wesley college for his Education.


He joined the film industry in the year 2000 with no backing from any lead actors or producers, which is very uncommon in the current Indian Film Industry [1].


He has primarily acted in the leading roles of many films of Telugu. Recently he started acting in the Tamil movies, with his first movie under the direction of the famous K. Balachander [2].


He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award (Telugu) for the year 2001.

He was formerly engaged to Megastar Chiranjeevi's older daughter, Sushmita in April 2003. However, due to differences in opinion, the wedding did not take place. Sushmita subsequently tied the knot with a Chennai industrialist Vishnu Prasad in March 2006. But Uday Kiran's career ran into damage as he had seemingly offended the 'first family' of Tollywood. He is now trying to rebuild his career.
