University of California at San Diego School of Medicine is a medical school located in La Jolla, California, USA.

The school held its first class in 1969 and conferred its first degrees in 1973. The school aggressively recruited leading physician scientists of its era and rapidly gained reputation as an elite medical school. The sophomore class in 1971 achieved the highest score in the National Board of Medical Examiners examination in the nation.

UCSD School of Medicine was ranked 14 on the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report for research.[1] UCSD School of Medicine was ranked 33 in primary care.

- Edward Tobinick (M.D. 1977) patented a use of subcutaneous TNF-α to treat intractable back pain.

- David N. Bailey is the current dean of the school
- William Nyhan is a pediatrician who first described what is now called the Lesch-Nyhan syndrome
