The College of Natural Resources (CNR) is one of 14 schools and colleges at the University of California, Berkeley. CNR is the self-proclaimed college of "human welfare and the environment." It has four departments: Agricultural and Resource Economics, Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, Nutritional Science & Toxicology, and Plant and Microbial Biology. The departments teach on both the undergraduate and graduate level, conferring a wide range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. CNR is also home to a variety of research centers and facilities conducting inquiries into topics relevant to the four departments.

Agricultural and Resource Economics focuses on sustainable agriculture policy, developing nations' use and misuse of land, macro- and microeconomic consequences of trade freedoms, among other topics. The faculty is about thirty strong. ARE offers one undergraduate major, Environmental Economics and Policy. It also offers a doctorate in Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Environmental Science, Policy, & Management is CNR's largest department. It is comprised of three divisions: Ecosystems Sciences, Organisms and Environment, and Society and Environment. Topics of research in ESPM include global warming, insect biology, and the human relationship to the environment. It offers four undergraduate programs: Molecular Environmental Biology, Foresty and Natural Resources, Conservation and Resource Studies, and Society and Environment.

Nutritional Science & Toxicology's faculty research the positive and negative affects of human consumption. It offers bachelor's degrees in Physiology and Metabolism, Dietetics and Molecular Toxicology. It also offers a doctorate in Molecular and Biochemical Nutrition and Molecular Toxicology.

Plant and Microbial Biology houses research regarding gene expression and how microbes behave. It offers degrees in Genetics and Plant Biology and Microbial Biology.
