Ubaté is one of the Municipalities of Cundinamarca in Colombia. Its name comes from the native name "Ebate" meaning "Bloodied Land". It was at one point populated by Chibcha tribes. It was founded in 1592. It is known as the "Milk Capital of Colombia". It is known for a Gothic style Cathedral and the San Luis Convent.
