U.S. Route 258 runs northeast-southwest (signed north-south) in the southeast part of the U.S. state of Virginia. It passes through or near Franklin, Smithfield, Newport News, and Hampton, crossing the James River on the James River Bridge. To the south, US 258 continues into North Carolina; at its north end, US 258 comes off the James River Bridge onto Mercury Boulevard to its end at State Route 143 on Fort Monroe.
