U.S. Route 213

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

U.S. Route 213 is a former north-south U.S. highway on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The highway originally ran from U.S. Route 40 in Elkton to Maryland Route 528 in Ocean City. The highway was truncated to Wye Mills in 1949 when it was replaced from Wye Mills to Ocean City by U.S. Route 50 due to the impending completion of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

U.S. 213 also served the towns of Chesapeake City, Kennedyville, Chestertown, Centreville, Easton, Vienna, Cambridge, Salisbury, and Berlin.

U.S. 213 was decommissioned in the 1970s and was replaced by Maryland Route 213, which was subsequently extended to the Pennsylvania state line.
