U.S. Department of Justice Office of Special Counsel

The Office of Special Counsel in the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) replaces the former Office of the Independent Counsel. It is charged with investigating alleged misconduct in the Executive Branch. The current Special Counsel is Patrick Fitzgerald.
This U.S. DOJ Office of Special Counsel is not to be confused with the United States Office of Special Counsel, which is an independent agency of the government.
