U-WIRE

The U-WIRE is a wire service tailored to colleges and universities. It acts as a sort of hub between these institutions' newspapers, giving each of its over 700 members access to news, sports, features, entertainment and opinion articles by the other members.
Membership is free to collegiate newspapers. U-WIRE staff members cull articles from these papers and supply them the next day to the other members; thus, newspapers may publish peer institutions' articles to complement their own material. U-WIRE also supplies articles to professional news media and high school newspapers for a fee.
U-WIRE is currently helmed by Managing Editor Jenny Oakson. U-WIRE's arts editor is Mandy Schick. Both are graduates of the University of Kansas.
