U-Know

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The U-Knows was a Canadian award for independent and alternative music, initiated by Toronto radio station CFNY in 1981.

The name U-Know was a pun on Canada's mainstream music awards, the Juno Awards. The awards were presented based on voting by CFNY's listeners.

In 1986, the station held a contest to rename the awards, which became the CASBY Awards that year. (CASBY stands for Canadian Artists Selected By You.)
