Tyria

Tyria is one of the three fictional continents from the Guild Wars series. The continent is split up into 6 regions, all based upon different elements and areas. These areas are called Ascalon, the Shiverpeak Mountains, Kryta, the Crystal Desert, Maguuma Jungle and the Ring of Fire.

Ascalon

Ascalon is the first area in which your character finds him/herself in the original, Guild Wars Prophecies. Very early on however, the green landscape gets completely destroyed in a magical event referred to as The Searing.

Shiverpeak Mountains

This area is split up into two different sub-areas. The Northern and Southern Shiverpeaks. The area is home to the Deldrimor Dwarves and their distant cousins, The Stone Summit. Both civilizations have been at war for centuries. Players will constantly find themselves victims to attack of the Stone Summit whilst the Deldrimor Dwarves provide a safe, if cold, shelter.

Kryta

Similar looks to pre-searing Ascalon, Kryta is the third region in which players will have to fight through. The area is ruled by a holy group of zealots called The White Mantle. Players will have to fight and explore their way through Kryta to find the fabled Temple of The Ages. This is one of the only places in Guild Wars Prophecies when players will be allowed access to The Fissure of Woe and The (new) Underworld.
