Tynan

Tynan is a small village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, 6 miles from Armagh. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 102 people. It is situated in the Armagh City and District Council area.

Tynan Abbey has an extensive demesne, with a house dated from around 1750 which is now a ruin.

Tynan has a Celtic cross marking the entrance to the county, with a carving of Adam and Eve under an apple tree. Tynan High Cross is by the village’s churchyard and dates from 700-900.
