Tymfi

Tymfi (Τύμφη) is a municipality in the Ioannina Prefecture, Greece. Population 1,493 (2001). The seat of the municipality is in Tsepelovo.

Tymphi is also a mountain range in the north part of the prefecture of Ioannina. Its peaks stand over 2400 m. the highest peak of the range is 'Gamila' (elevation:2497m). Other peaks are: Gamila II at 2480m, Tsouka Rossa at 2466m.The massif of Tymfi also includes the Vikos gorge which is referred to be the deepest gorge in the world (in proportion to its width) in the 'Guinness Book Of Records 2005' (1100m wide - -900m deep). Tymfi lies in the mountain range of Northern Pindus.
