Tyler Hendricks

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tyler Hendricks (1948- ) is the president of the Unification Theological Seminary in Barrytown, New York with an Extension Center in New York City. A typical northern California liberal, with a streak of Calvinism and new age predilections, Hendricks was a seeker and musician until a series of spiritual and relationship building experiences led him to the movement of the Reverend Sun Myung Moon in late 1972. He served as a field missionary for three and a half years, pursued graduate theological and historical studies, and undertook a series of leadership positions in the movement.

When Hendricks served as a vice president of the Unification Church of America from 1989 to 1995,[1] he was assisted in developing the church infrastructure by Go Ezaki. He was promoted to the position of church president, a post he held for 5 years, 1995-2000.

Upon the appointment of Rev. Michael Jenkins, Dr. Hendricks was appointed UTS president. Hendricks is presently at work on a project to create a genuinely interfaith theological seminary.
