[edit] Usage

All fields must be lowercase.

Copy a blank version to use. Remember to use the "|" (pipe) character between each field. Please delete any unused fields to avoid clutter in the edit window.

Most common parameters for incumbents

district: Senate district number.
hometown: Optional. Helpful, if known, since Texas Senate district numbers and numbering systems have often changed dramatically. The template will create the wikilink for the town.
before: previous officeholder
after succeeding officeholder. If omitted, template will insert Incumbent
start: for incumbent, beginning date
years: date range. For consistency with other succession templates use YEAR–YEAR (no spaces around an en dash).
town_note_marker: a marker for noting a change in hometown. (See example below.)
