Two Flags West is a 1950 American Civil War drama that tells the story of a large squadron of imprisoned Confederate Army soldiers, who will be given complete amnesty, only if they choose to fight alongside Indians. Fox has originally intended the role of "Col. Clay Tucker" to either be played by Victor Mature or Richard Basehart. Cotten was subsequently awarded the role at the last minute.
