TV Cogeco
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
TV Cogeco is the brand of community channels owned by Cogeco Cable, many of which share common programmes. TV Cogeco broadcasts into the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Some channels broadcast in both the English and French languages, often on separate channels.
Programming on the channels are produced with the assistance of volunteers. This programming was created in response to CRTC regulations which previously required that cable companies produce local content (this is no longer required but strongly encouraged).[1] This requirement does not apply to satellite providers and is the main reason that cable providers can claim to have more local coverage.
