[edit] Financial struggles and criticism

bpm:tv is considered a digital channel on the fringe. It generates little ad revenue and relies mostly on subscriber fees to generate just enough to cover its operating costs, this is probably due to the fact that large cable companies such as Shaw Communications that cover the majority of major centres in Western Canada and StarChoice satellite (also owned by Shaw) refuse to carry the channel.

The station has received criticism from viewers because of its "revolving door" of on-air talent from season to season, this policy has made it difficult for bpm:tv to generate loyal viewership. Rosemary Fusca has been in charge of bpm:tv since 2003.
