TV9 is a Malaysian private-owned television station which started transmission on April 22, 2006.

TV9 existed as Channel 9 from September 9, 2003 to February 1, 2005, but following Media Prima Berhad's acquisition of Ch-9 Media Sdn Bhd, the station's name was renamed and relaunched with a tagline "Dekat Di Hati" ("Close to the heart" in Malay) and content geared towards Malay audience. Test transmissions resumed on April 1, 2006 by airing music videos mostly in Malay.

Despite its focus mainly on Malay programming, the station also airs a few Chinese, Korean, Japanese, as well as Indian programmes on a weekly basis. English programmes such as Crocodile Hunter, Mutant X, Band of Brothers, Guinness World Records are also currently aired. During the 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. airtime block daily, the station airs children's shows such as Nickelodeon cartoons like Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues and more which are all dubbed in Malay.

TV9 will air its own news segment called "Berita TV9" beginning January 1, 2007 at 8:00pm. For eight months since it started transmission, "Edisi 7" was broadcasted, courtesy of ntv7.Liputan 9 (9 Coverage) was Channel 9's primetime news programme when it was in transmission.

The station's official transmission starts from 2:30 p.m. till 12:00 midnight, considerably short when compared to other television stations. At Noon and midnight, interactive programmes are shown with mostly Malay music videos are played. At the same time, viewers can chat via SMS.

From Mondays to Thursdays at 8:00am - 12 noon, TV Pendidikan's programmes is aired.

TV9 broadcasts under UHF (Ultra High) Frequency. In the Klang Valley, the UHF channel is 39.

TV9 is also available in Astro (Malaysian Satellite TV Provider) via Channel 22.
