Tuxedo Gin is a manga series by Tokihiko Matsuura. It is published in English by Viz Communications. Tuxedo Gin is about a high schooler named Ginji Kusanagi.

[edit] Plot

At the beginning of the story, Ginji meets Minako Sasebo, the girl of his dreams, and is on the verge of going professional as a boxer, only to die in a suspicious biking accident. Confronted by an angel (who seems to be half cherub, half Buddhist monk), he tells Ginji that he can reunite with Minako, but only if he lives out the natural life of another animal. When he remembers Minako's love for penguins, he decides to be reincarnated as an adelie penguin. Once his penguin life naturally ends - a life, he later learns, which may last for up to twenty years! - he will be able to return to his old body and be with Minako.

Ginji is able to escape from the aquarium with his penguin friends, but realizes he can't swim. He washes up on shore, and is discovered by none other than Minako. She names him Gin-chan (at first thinking this to be an affectionate contraction of his own name, Ginji is crestfallen when Minako reveals that she has selected this name because, in her words, "You're such a cute little pen'gin!"), and Ginji spends his days with her. However, he still tries to date Minako, making Tuxedo Gin a romantic comedy.

Ginji(or Gin-chan) goes through many adventures, mostly with Minako. Gin-chan does his best to protect Minako from any man who tries to go out with her or simply "harm" her.

Currently the series is up to its 15th (and final) volume.
