Turksat is name of the Turkish communication satellites

Turksat satellite project is supervised by Aerospatiale and Turk Telekom

[edit] Turksat 1A

Turksat 1A was the first attempt of the project and launched by Ariene-4 on 24 January 1994.

Due to the malfunction of the rocket, satellite was exploded in the air.

After the loss of Turksat 1A, Turksat 1B was launched successfully on 11 August 1994. This satellite is still operational and has 16 transponders.

[edit] Turksat 1C

Turksat 1C was launched successfully on 10 July 1996. This satellite is still operational and covering Europe , Anatolia and Middle Asia.

Turksat 2A is in service since February 2001 Being one of the most powerful satellites, Turksat 2a covers whole Europe , Anatolia, Middle Asia , North Africa and some parts of Far East
