The only satellite operator company in Turkey, has been founded as a publicly owned and privately operated company. Turksat AS also has 75% of the shares of Eurasiasat SAM, jointly established a spin-off company with Alcatel Space in 1996 to manufacture and launch Turksat 2A (Eurasiasat 1) in 2001.
