Turks-Caicos Creole

Turks-Caicos Creole is an English creole spoken in the Turks and Caicos Islands. (The Turks and Caicos are in the Caribbean southwest of the Bahamas.)

Turks-Caicos Creole is similar to other Caribbean English creoles. It is almost identical to Bahamian Dialect. The languages drawn on African grammar while using a largely English vocabulary. The number of speakers of Turks-Caicos Creole is less than 100,000. Turks-Caicos Creole does not have the status of an official language.
