Talk:Turd Blossom
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Their is no logic to the following statement: "Neither Rove nor George W. Bush attended high school in Texas, and neither would be familiar with the original use of the word." The fact that Bush went to high school at Andover does not preclude him from visiting Texas on breaks and interacting with Texans, or being in contact with them via long distance, OR INTERACTING WITH FELLOW TEXANS AT ANDOVER! Not only that, are all elementary students deaf? Why wouldn't Bush have been familiar with the expression before going to high school?

The fact that I misspelled "There" ("Their") is testimony to the intensity of my anger regarding such 'logic' and my heroic achievement in controlling it by banishing expletives and insults from my 'contribution'.

[edit] Giving due respect.
Well, I've looked through some of the convoluted history and discussion of this single page concerning a controversial public figure, and I've decided to do one thing: state what I know to be the truth.
I'll simply say that it's a derogatory nickname coined (most likely through jest) by George W. Bush for this one of this top political advisors.
Please correct the information if you KNOW it to be incorrect, but if you would like either a shrine to Karl Rove or a page making complete folly of him, then I would argue that you're just being a fool. I hate Karl Rove, personally, and I think he's an evil man, but I'm going to state only what I know to be fact, and I'm going to do my best to leave opinion out of this. Please keep it that way: facts only.

I added information about the actual use of the term 'turd blossom' in Texas high schools in the 1960s to the Karl Rove entry and got some nasty e-mail from some right wing nut defender of Karl Rove. Just for the record, 'Turd blossom' did not refer to a " flower that grows out of a cow patty." It meant either the spreading smell of a nasty fart or the spreading stain of a loose bowel movement. The cow patty flower story was probably concocted by some goof ball defender of Rove or Bush who has no real experience with Texas high school slang. I graduated from Kimball H.S. in Dallas in 1964. Famous Kimball graduates include guitarist Stevie Vaughan and actor and writer Stephen Tobolowsky. 'Turd blossom' and 'fart blossom' were used more or less interchangeably to denote a disgusting person.'Turd blossom' describes Bush and Rove both quite aptly. JDB
