Tupua Tamasese Tupuola Tufuga Efi

Tupua Tamasese Tupuola Tufuga Efi, formerly known as Tupola Efi, is a former Prime Minister of Samoa. He is a current Member of the Council of Deputies. He is a member of one of the Kingly Families (Aiga Tupu). He holds the Tamasese title and he holds one of the Tafaifa titles Tui Aana. He also holds the title Tupuola under which he first entered parliament and became Prime Minister. It was under his period as Prime Minister that the Public Service Association went on a General Strike in 1981 paralysing the counrty for several months and paving the way for the HRPP's entry to government. He served as Prime Minister from 1976-1982; and as Deputy Prime Minister from 1985-1988.
