Tupanciretã is a municipality of the western part of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Its area is 2,253.1 km² and its population was 21,763 in 2004. Its elevation is at 465 m. The origin of the name comes from the Tupi language. fIt is located west of the state capital of Porto Alegre and northeast of Alegrete. Its nickname is Ttupã".
