Tupalo is an internet service created by 9tomorrows, an internet startup based in Vienna, Austria. Combining social networking and Google Maps elements, Tupalo hosts a database of user reviews for locations involved with independent culture, such as independent record stores, vegetarian restaurants, fashion boutiques, live venues and other subjects.
Tupalo's founders, Clemens Beer and Michael Borras, formerly worked at Rockstar Vienna [1]. Michael Borras also runs independent record labels Skylab Operations and Observatory, and was Founder and CEO of Skylab Commerce, an independent music auction internet service which existed from 1998 until 2001, hosting auctions for over 16,000 music collectors and dealers, considered to be a valuable resource to fans of the mid-90s Emo and Screamo music scenes. Tupalo is advised by Shaw-Han Liem, a web developer and musician (I Am Robot And Proud) based in Toronto, Canada and Anders Ahoerj of Venom Yum and Woven Flesh, a web, fashion and character designer based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
