The Wei-Mei Climbing Wall completed in 2004, in memory of Wei-Mei Lin, who was the leader of Mountaing Climbing Club, died in mountain accident in 2001. She devoted herself to establish a climbing wall for students at Tunghai University. It is 12 meters high and 9 meters wide.

According to the policy of THU, all freshmen should lodge in dormitories for a year. After one year, students must move out to other lodgings in the areas around THU.

Students of THU usually go to the Tunghai villa, which is located in the west of THU campus, to have food and shopping. Other places near campus they would go for amusement are Tunghai Art Street, Taichung Metropolitan Park and Feng Chia Night Market.

[edit] Student societies

THU has more than one hundred student societies and many of those societies are still active.

See also: Student Societies of Tunghai University.

After first year, moving out of the dormitories is OPTIONAL not MANDATORY.

Actually the reverse is closer to the truth: freshmen must live in the dorms in their first year only, but there are exceptions to this rule.
