Tulsi Chakrabarti

Tulsi Chakrabarty was a virtuosu comic actor in Bengali cinema in 40s and 50s. He was cast with superlative success in Parash Pathar, a fantasy film of Satyajit Ray. Tulsi Chakrabarty was famous for his extreme realistic acting. He never needed any make-up or extra arrangements to help his acting look better, simply because it could not be better. Only with a white dhoti & a sacred thread on his shoulder accompanied this wonderful actor in most of his wonderful performances that include 'Saare Chuattor' the debut film of the queen of bengali films Suchitra Sen pairing the God of bengali cinema, Uttam Kumar. Tulsi Chakraborty was never utilized well in his entire life. Satyajit Ray was probably the only one who did justice to this genius in Parash Pathor. He spent the latter part of his life in utmost poverty & died as nobody.
