John Thomas "Tug" Arundel (June 30, 1862 in Romulus, New York-September 5, 1912 in Auburn, New York) was an American big league baseball catcher. He played in parts of four seasons between 1882 and 1888 with the Philadelphia Athletics and Toledo Blue Stockings of the American Association and the Indianapolis Hoosiers and Washington Nationals of the National League.
He made his debut at the age of 19 in 1882. In one game that season, he went 0 for 5. The rest of his career would be almost as unsuccessful-perhaps his best season was 1887, when he hit .197 in 157 at-bats. Overall, he played in 76 career games, collecting 45 hits in 260 at-bats for a .173 batting average. He hit four doubles, one triple and no home runs in his career, and he stole nine bases as well. He had a .880 career fielding percentage, committing a total of 61 errors in his career. He played his final game on September 27, 1888.
He died of paralysis on September 5, 1912 in Auburn, New York and is buried there at St. Joseph Cemetery.
