TUGS is a children's television programme that ran from Septembr 1988 - February 1989, and was created by the producers of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends Robert D. Cardona and David Mitton.

Many of the characters' accents are debatable, and the Clearwater Forum who devoted to the hefty task of petitioning the release of TUGS on DVD have a topic upon the subject. However, here is the list of notable accents used in TUGS:
The Star Tugs:
- Ten Cents : East End Cockney
- Big Mac : Glaswegian
- OJ : Welsh
- Top Hat : Upper Class (Posh English)
- Warrior : Probably South London
- Hercules : Politically Correct (P.C.) English
- Sunshine : Geordie (or soft Newcastle)
- Grampus : Central English (with a noticeable lisp)
The Z-Stacks:
- Captain Zero : Scottish (exact region uncertain)
- Zorran : Neutral English Accent (with lashings of Cockney!)
- Zebedee : Liverpudlian
- Zak : A gruff cockney
- Zug : Eastern European (thought to be Estonian)
- Zip : Neutral English Accent

- Boomer : Irish
- Bluenose : Regimented Army English
