[edit] Vyborg Library

Hello, thanks for your information about the Vyborg Library. Your contributions are appreciated. This article was on my to-do list but I lacked data. I split your additions into a separate article, Vyborg Library, which you are welcome to check. --Ghirla -трёп- 14:19, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm afraid it was me who got thing wrong. Looking at this picture, I assumed that it is the acoustical ceiling, which I've seen on an old photograph in his book. Or is it another ceiling, in fact? --Ghirla -трёп- 16:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Philosophers

Hey. Thanks for adding the philosophers section to List of Finns. I added a few more from the category, but it still seems heavily infested with redlinks, which is non-optimal considering how long the whole list has become. I also think Eeva-Liisa Manner might fit better to another section. Maybe you can clean it up a bit? Prolog 08:13, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. It sounds great to have a good list of Finnish philosophers there. Prolog 09:53, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category:British people

Hi, well done on all your good work categorising articles. I just thought that I ought to point out there is no need to place articles in the Category:British people when they are also in one of the sub-categories: e.g. Michael Foot was in several sub-categories, and it is considered bad practice to duplicate categs in this way. (There are a few exceptions to this rule, but they are rare).

When you are categorising people, it is also a high priority to classify them by date of birth and death. Here are some examples:

Winston Churchill
 •

Tony Blair
 •

Aderk of Iberia
 •

Lord Lucan
 •

Hope this helps! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 14:01, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? was updated. On October 16, 2006, a fact from the article Vyborg Library, which you recently nominated, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

[edit] Elia Zenghelis

In reply to your concerns on this article, the main issue is that it does not cite sources, nor does it really assert Zenghelis' notability. Koolhaas seems to be quite clearly notable, and many sources are cited for his notability outside of the corporation. Zenghelis, on the other hand, seems to be mainly only "notable by association", which would mean he'd fit better under the corporation's article. Seraphimblade 19:37, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Another architect bio?

Hello TTKK, how is everything? After seeing a pretty harsh talkpage comment by a new user at Talk:Peter Eisenman, I was wondering if you would like to work on improving that article. Seeing as how you recently did such a great job expanding the article about Kenneth Frampton and re-writing the one about Rem Koolhaas, I thought you might also consider working on and expanding the article about Peter Eisenman. Let me know what you think, you can discuss anything with me about this that you want or just start writing. I've seen good things from you and trust that you would do that well. Regards, DVD+ R/W 05:02, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for all your hard work! Could you announce your new pages on Portal:Architecture/New article announcements? Thanks in advance, Ghirla -трёп- 15:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nordic Classicism

Hi. It's great that you started the article, I nominated it on T:TDYK and hope to see it on Main Page soon. I plan to write something about Russian Neoclassicism of the 1910s when I have more time. I'd like to write an article about stripped classicism someday and illustrate it with an image of Peter Behrens's German Embassy in St. Petersburg. Don't know when I have leisure for all this, though. Best, Ghirla -трёп- 19:28, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! And I for one would definitely be interested in Russian Neoclassicm of the early 20th century, before Stalinism (I added a mention to Stalinst architecture of the "Soviet" embassy in Helsinki). I got in a mention of the more earlier St.Petersburg-Helsinki axis. greetings --TTKK 19:40, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

It is in fact a bad idea to upload any free content to the English Wikipedia. This is the mistake I did on some of my photos before I registered at Wikimedia Commons. Uploading there is in fact no more difficult. (Getting the description template right the first time may take some time.) -- Petri Krohn 11:13, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

If the difficulty persists you may send them to me at yaroslavl dot gmail dot com. --Ghirla -трёп- 14:14, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Many thanks! I'll have another go this evening - and if it fails then, I'll send a couple to you - not wishing to overload anyone :) --TTKK 16:48, 22 November 2006 (UTC) Thanks Petri for the advice to persist! And thanks Ghirlandajo for your very kind offer. I finally managed to work out where I was going wrong; and have now uploaded my first few pictures; will soon start adding pictures to the articles I've written on various Finnish architects.

[edit] British Spelling in Alvar Aalto Article & Appropriate Place for Comments

First of all, I apologize for changing the spelling of neighbourhood. My browser pegged it as a questionable spelling when I was adding the link to Turku, so I changed that too. I have, by the way, changed it back myself. Secondly, I would appreciate it if you would restrict your comments to my discussion page rather than my user page in the future.
