Tsunan, Niigata

Tsunan (津南町; -machi) is a town located in Nakauonuma District, Niigata, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 11,933 and a density of 70.08 persons per km². The total area is 170.28 km.

It has one of the highest annual snowfalls in Japan and is known for its high quality of rice and sake. Tomatoes, sunflowers, and buckwheat noodles are other notable goods. One noteworthy event it the triennial art expo held in the area, with the next scheduled for summer 2006.².
