Talk:Tsunade (Naruto)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Sixth Paragraph
This is total speculation:
It is an interesting fact to note that the amulet curses those that it does not accept with death (this was how Dan and Nawaki died, Tsunade had given them both the amulet, to show how proud she was of them, as they both wanted to become Hokage, but apparently the amulet did not accept them.)Those that the necklace serves (aka, immune to the curse)so far have all become Hokages. The necklace accepted Tsunade, who did become the Godaime Hokage, the uncanny part is that it also accepted Naruto, so is Naruto destined to become a Hokage?
Nowhere in the Manga or Anime does it say that the necklace is actually cursed, just that Tsunade thinks it is. Also nowhere does it say that the necklace "accepts" people or not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.250.125.31 (talk • contribs) 11:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tsunade's Name (綱手)
About Tsunade's name in kanji -- it says in the trivia section "The name "Tsunade" (綱手) means "mooring rope"." Can somebody confirm this? From my knowledge, the kanji translates to "net" and "hand" respectively, not "mooring rope." Observation 07:01, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- From my understanding of the Kanji, It makes more sense to translate it using Traditional Chinese, which yields "Hand of Iron", more understandable due to the fact Tsunade is portrayed as a character with immense strength.24.149.204.116 21:21, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Hm, I agree, although it wasn't until recently that someone told me that 綱 was "wang3" (net) -- which is probably incorrect. From what I know, they pronounce her name as "gang1 shou3" (iron hand) in the Chinese dub, which is why it has cause me confusion when this page stated her name meant "mooring rope," -- a definition that makes no sense in the first place. 202.169.215.68 13:11, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

- Gāng shǒu "gang1 shou3" is its correct pronounciation. And I would like to add that 綱, 鋼, or 钢 (Simplfied Chinese) actually meant steel, not iron, although they are fundamentally the same element. Sorry if I caused any confusion. 網 is wǎng (wang3), a similar character, although it have a completely different meaning. Doomed Rasher 22:22, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ninjutsu used by Tsunade
When Tsunade attempted to kill Orochimaru with a ninjutsu that looked like healing but instead is an offensive jutsu, as Kabuto states; "The flow of chakra is not right". The ninjutsu is similar to Rasengan. Seeing that Jiraiya and the Fourth know this jutsu, May it be possible that Tsunade possesses this jutsu as well?24.149.204.116 21:26, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- I highly doubt that it was the Rasengan -- if Tsunade knew that attack, then why didn't she use it during her battle with Orochimaru when her life was at stake? Besides the Rasengan involves Chakra molded into a sphere-like shape, and Tsuande definitly was not forming a sphere of Chakra when she was about to decieve Orochimaru. 202.169.215.68 13:07, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- True...However, it still is a ninjutsu and we should figure out what its name is, so we can add it to the 'pedia.Doomed Rasher 21:33, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- There isn't a name for it, we don't know what it does, so it doesn't matter. More likely, Tsunade would use something similar to what she used on Kabuto, except more intense. So intead of messing up his nervous system, she'd disconnect Orochimaru's brain from his heart and lungs, or something along those lines. Tyciol 23:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- I believe Tsunade used the same jutsu that Kabuto used on Shizune, when he took her by the ankles. Both techniques consist of fire-like chakra. Or maybe this jutsu increases physical damage, since Tsunade had lost her super-human strength due the side effect of the super healing jutsu, and she sent Orochimaru pretty far. (I have problems with my english, sorry if I made gramatical mistakes) - Sasori -
- I think this is just a collection of compressed chakra that Tsunade was building up to release on impact (So, basicaly using her strength with a slight charge up).72.240.200.97 02:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Relatives
Fūjin and Raijin referred to Tsunade as "Great sister" during the Mizuki filler arc.Doomed Rasher 21:33, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tsunade's Summon
Nothing is mentioned about Tsunade's slug summon, Katsuyu. - July 23, 06 (2:18 EST) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.133.82.141 (talk • contribs) 06:11, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- It is listed under Jutsu/Kekkei genkai on the right. – Pedantic79 (talk) 06:44, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Another thing, this seems to be an opinion "her summoned giant slug, Katsuyu is not quite as strong as Jiraiya's frog, Gamabunta" especially since the databook indicates she is on equal grounds with Manda and Gama Bunta
[edit] Voice actor wannabes?
- Masashi Kishimoto was asked if he were to be able to be someone's voice he replied saying Tsunade.
Anyone opposed to my deleting this? I don't see the relevance. There's not even an article on Masashi. Tyciol 23:31, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] should there be something about her breast size?
or is the description of large breast fair enofhg?
- "Tsunade's got a rack that just won't quit. I mean, she could feed a small nation with those things." Now that you've read that, think about how any description of her breast size beyond "ample" would sound. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 05:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- Funny. Yeah, but I agree with him/her. There should be something about the obvious here. This is Wikipedia after all. Maybe something like, "One notable feature of the character design is her relatively large breasts." Something like that. And if I remember, Jiraiya reacted to her breast size and said something about it upon meeting her again. Maybe a mention of that too? Or maybe I'm just too fascinated by her breasts, sorry. - "Tsunade is also known for her ample chest, though during their childhood, Jiraiya referred to her as "flat-chested Tsunade", for which she'd beat him up (this happened twice in two separate episodes)."
- It is noted. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 06:03, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I missed it because I was just hitting Ctrl+F and typing "breast." I forgot the word chest. Moonwalkerwiz 06:49, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- This is not suitable for children. What if a little kid got on here and read this? I would delete this section, but im lazy, and i don't know how. - Hyuuga-sama 02:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- And I'd revert you. Wiki isn't censored. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 02:54, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, god forbid a kid between the ages of ten to fifteen read the word "breast". I'm sure their frail, fragile innocent minds would implode due to the sheer horror of such a concept as the breast. Perhaps anyone that 'easily offended' should not be on the internet to begin with. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 137.164.220.245 (talk) 03:01, 21 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] "medical jutsu" vs Mystical Palm
Is there some reason why the entry isn't just listed as [[List of ninjutsu in Naruto (H-R)#Mystical Palm Technique|Mystical Palm Technique]]? --Pentasyllabic 22:25, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- I just merged it to avoid confusion. They never actually call it that in the series. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 22:28, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- But it´s quite confusing if we name it "Medical jutsu" in the character pages and "Mystical Palm" in the jutsu section. We should at least use the same name in both pages. -- Felcis 23:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Naruto's pet names for Tsunade
While everyone else refers to her as Tsunade-sama and Hokage-sama, -sama being the customary Japanese honorifics used when referring to one's superior, should it not be noted that Naruto almost always uses one of the pet names he invented for her ("Old Lady Tsunade" and "Granny" seem to be the translations used by fansubbers)? I know that the Jiraiya article specifically mentions Naruto's pet name for him. It would add some clarity as to the closeness of their relationship since I doubt anyone else, except maybe Jiraiya, could get away with using those names. --130.127.121.188 03:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ツナデ instead of 綱手?
In episode 92, Tsunade's name is displayed as ツナデ in the title, not 綱手. Should that not be her real Japanese name?--Louis 04:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kekkai Genkai
If Tsunade is the grandaughter of the First Hokage then shouldnt she posses the ability to use Mokuton techniques and tailed-beast control?QuietDrive627 19:50, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Please edit this article. I noticed someone thought it would be funny to be vile. There should be some way to record such changes. It makes a mockery of wikipedia. I don't think creating an account should allow a hidden IP address.
