[edit] Jinnah

You can open a discussion section if you want to see if you can add that passage. visit wiki NPOV, and importance of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:RS which are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:CITE. omerlivesOmerlives 01:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

so far I dont see any discussion on Jinnah on the article's talk page. That's the page for you to discuss anyting objected to in the aticle. omerlivesOmerlives

OMERLIVES: I GUESS NO ONE GIVES A HOOT ABOUT JINNAH EXCEPT FOR YOU, SO I THINK WHAT I WROTE WAS NOT NOT VANDALISM AT ALL. DONT YOU THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO TELL THE PUBLIC THAT MUSLIM LEAGUE WAS FOUNDED BY AGHA KHAN, WHO INCIDENTLY WAS MADE A PRINCE OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE FOR HELPING FIGHT THE FREEDEOM FIGHTERS IN INDIA. AND BY THE WAY HIS TITLE OF AGHA KHAN WAS RECINDED WHEN THE KING OF IRAN SENTENCED THIS MAN TO DEATH FOR HIS BELIEF THEREBY CAUSING AGHA KHAN TO RUN OF TO INDIA FROM PERSIA. HISTORY CANNOT BE REWRITTEN IT IS ALWAYS THERE. ?

HOW CAN YOU CONSIDER WHAT I WROTE VANDALISM ?

TRUEBLOOD786

Listen, first learn to sign your name as by typing 3 or 4 tildas (~) after your nickname, so that your name is hyperlinked and i tis easier for people to comunicate with you. Secondly, learn that your opinions do not count as fact. I have an opinion about many world figures, and events which other may or maynot agree with. When you make such a fantastic claim, always use a langauge which does not reflect a rabid point of view, so first know how to use a an NPOV language. Secondly, If you make such an edit, ANY administrator or user who has contributed to the article helping to make it a "Featured article" will delete it. Go ahead try and if you keep doing the edit, you will be banned. It is not personal, though, yes, I am amused by your attitude buddy. And most importantly, if you have issues, questions, problems or want to make a major change in an article, then first discuss it in the discussion page. The discussion tab is right next to the article tab just like your use page here. SO go and open a topis there and write what and why you want to add what you want. You'll get a response or two. you'll see. omerlivesOmerlives 21:01, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

lol whatever. Omerlives 03:45, 21 June 2006 (UTC) Oh and I am not Punjabi. ciao.

Trueblood, Jinnah's religion has been mentioned along with his political predilection. He was not religious. Neither did he found Pakistan in the name of religion IMO. In any event, the info you wanted to mention was not acceptable according to wikipedia policy anyways. Omerlives BTW you dont need to write your name everytime. Just put tildas thrice or 4 times if you also want to mention the time and date you made the entry. Omerlives 06:27, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tribes?

You wrote on my talk page: "I checked into the Sudhan tribe and the Sadozai, there is no consenses if they are the same tribe therefore I suggest that Sudhan should be kept as a separate article rather than Sadozai. Can you comment, I will get the information including the citations to fix the article."

I have no idea what you are talking about. Maurreen 18:50, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] lower the caps

It is considered impolite to write with your caps lock on. It comes across as brash, impolite and loud. Other than that you have your right to your opinion regarding Pakistan, Pakistanis, Islam, Jinnah, Israel, Hindus and so forth. I just don't agree with you. Omerlives 19:57, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Raw.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Poonch

I suppose you were the one who left that message on my Talk page.

Bhai,

When did I say that Jehlum is in Poonch? When did I say that Alexander came to Poonch? (Read what I wrote carefully.) And regarding the Punjabis, you must know that when Poonch was annexed by Runjeet Singh, and later when it was given to Raja Moti Singh, many Punjabis were brought here. My family is one of them.

I know the facts I need to know. I started this page and someone redirects the Poonch(Rawalakot) page to this one and edits as per his/her likings!? If that was you and you want to write some thing about the history and developments of AJK's Poonch, you are free to do that, provided that you do it at the right place.

Regards.

[edit] License tagging for Image:100 0891.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:100 0891.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cisco Field.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cisco Field.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sotpqw 16:31, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sudhun

Hi, I noticed an article that you have helped to create called Sudhun. Can you provide any sources of information about this group? From the article, I am having a difficult time understanding what it is supposed to be about and most of the references to "Sudhun" that I find when performing a web search are either links to this article or are somebody's last name. Please note that Wikipedia content should be verifiable. In other words, you should give reliable sources for information that you add to articles. Thank you. --BigDT 03:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

If you read the last part of the article it has about 20 references about the tribe. it is a tribe in Kashmir with about 500,000 members. Its members are also listed. I hope this helps. trueblood 03:23, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

The "references" section mentions several people who were or are members of this tribe. None of the four "external links" seem to be related to this tribe. When an article cites its sources, or references, this means that you should give the websites, books, newspapers, magazines, etc, from which you obtained the information given in the article. Where did the information in the article come from? Do you have a website that I could visit that would give me information about this tribe? Thanks. --BigDT 03:28, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

You can get the article about this tribe from :Modern academic studies that mention the Sudhans include Alexander Evans's 2005 article in Asian Affairs: http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/routledg/raaf/2005/00000036/00000001/art00003

Also the Official government of Azad Kashmir website has references to this tribes district it is called Sudnuti. Also see Poonch. thanks

trueblood 03:31, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Also see http://www.saag.org/papers3/paper286.html

the references are to Gen Aziz who was a General in Pak Army and is a member of the tribe. By the way I am also member of this tribe. So believe me it is not a hoax.

Quote from the article on above web site: After a series of consultations with the National Security Council (NSC), some of his Corps Commanders and his kitchen Cabinet, Gen. Musharraf has reportedly decided to send Major Gen Mohammad Anwar Khan, who belongs to the powerful Sudhan tribe and is a resident of Tain village in district Poonch, which is also the home village of the Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) Legislative Assembly Speaker Sardar Siab Khalid, to Muzaffarabad to be "elected" on August 1 as the so-called President of the POK on the ticket of the Muslim Conference allied to the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) of Nawaz Sharif, now living in exile in Saudi Arabia.

Ok ... thank you ... you have helped to allay my concerns. I would strongly suggest cleaning the article up some. Also, with respect to the pictures, in general, unless there is something important about all of the people depicted, the article probably doesn't need that many pictures. Thank you. --BigDT 03:40, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Your help is appreciated. Will keep in mind

[edit] RE: Help

Unfortunately I am not familiar with this term. I have a friend from Pakistan that I may be able to ask one of these days. Depending if she is not too busy with college and checks her email. If not, my apologies for not being to help.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 04:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Again, I must apologize but I really am not familiar with Islam unfortunately. I'm too Californianized for my own good. However as far as Persian culture, I might be able to help a bit more. But in regards to practicing the Muslim faith, I do not possess a strong enough knowledge of it.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 04:18, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help

trueblood 04:34, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Nice meeting you. I also thank you for your message. I have heard about Aga Khani and have read some articles about him but I do not have deep understanding of the matter you are talking about. Khalidkhoso 06:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

check i have written more sects in Islamic Cults.

I've just tried to make the article more NPOV (at least at the intro). A lot of work should be done and bringing reliable sources is necessary. -- Szvest - Wiki me up ® 10:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Ref. your note: the term Aga Khani literally means of Aga Khan. A rough translation would be Followers of Aga Khan. Though I don't konw much about the sect, you can rest assured that it exists. The other term used to describe the members of the sect is Ismaili. I am not sure if Aga Khani sect is an offshoot/part of Ismaili sect or not. Sorry for not beung much help. I'll post more if I find more about it. Mahalo --Vikas Kumar Ojha Talk to me! 16:32, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi. ref. your note, I have updated the above comment with a confirmation from one of my muslim friends and posted it on the Afd discussion page. I would suggest you to expand the article a little and search a few more reliable sources/citations on web. I personally do not have an opinion so would like to remain nuetral. Let me know if you need any help. Mahalo! --Vikas Kumar Ojha Talk to me! 23:14, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Sorry for the late response. This is ref. your note about putting my comments on preloaded discussion page. If you mean the Afd discussion page, I put my comments there. If you mean the article discussion (talk) page, wide this edit someone already pasted my comment there. Thanks! --Vikas Kumar Ojha Talk to me! 07:15, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion of Islamic Cults

I am willing to discuss this issue with, but I am swamped right now with a real life project. I hope to be back on Wikipedia by the 15th. Sorry, and good luck. -Eliyahu S Talk 21:02, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sudhun

Hi there, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, this is a recurrent theme here on wikipedia. With so many contributers with their opinions etc. it is hard to get the job done. Only an admin can block a user or lock a page. Here is the best process to follow in preparation to inviting an admin.

1. Invite the discussion on the discussion board and invite all users for it.
2. Offer your opinion and state your case with referenced sources and distinguish your opinions from these sources (opinions are not allowed in an encyclopedia. But if they are reflective of a cited reference from any publication or literary source, then by all means include it with a footnote etc)
3. Set up a disputed tag (I will try and set this up for you) and invite wiki admins through arbcom to come and help mediate this matter, as long as all parties are amicable and respectful.
4. Stay focussed and committed. Don't lose hope and don't get pulled into futile arguments and personal abuse, as it will either stress you out more or get you banned. Worst of all, the Sudhun article will still remain unfinished.

Hope that helps. Good luck True Blood786.--Raja 16:44, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] sock puppets

I have invited the user Sudozai to discuss the issue as he doesn't appear to be a sockpuppet.

The other user Sadozai Khan is clearly the Leeds sock puppet and only appeared on the scene after I retorted his points (very typical of him to try and evade detection). He has been warned and put up on to the sock puppet account. Now go ahead and make the changes on the article that will incorporate all views in a neutral and healthy way. Hope that helps.--Raja 11:58, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reference tags

I have replied to your question on the Sudhun talk page under the Reference tags header. It's simple, but you mjust always add the full info of the source you quote, i.e. The name of the book, the author, year of Publish, Publish house and copyright date, and the page numbers.

Type in < ref > at the beginning of your reference and at the end of it you would type < / Ref >

e.g.;

The Sudhans are a Brahmin tribe < ref > The name of the book, author, date of copyright and publishing house, page number < / ref >

Important: remove the spaces between the ref templates otherwise it wont work. I have added spaces in between the arrows because the system wont allow me to show you otherwise. Try it a few times, you will definitely get used to it.--Raja 14:31, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Local info re Sudhun

I have got in touch with some of the elders and their contacts in Rawalpindi, Kahuta who know Sudhans very well from there.

I can now see your frustration. All the elders were unanimous that the Sudhuns, althoguh quite a respectable and military tribe also, are definitely not Pathan at all, neither have they heard of such an assertion has been made by them. They say that the Sudhan titles are Sardar, whilst some very remotely also call themselves Raja and claim a Rajput ancestry (consist with your claims re Glossary of Tribes etc)

Another point here is a very interesting one also. Apparently Sudhans are well established near them in Rawalpindi and hold some decent land. This would be very strange for them to be this well established in such a short period within the Sadozai conquer of the area and the subsequent Sikh empire ovethrow. Logistically and plausibility would be against the Pathan origin point. The Sudhans of Rawalpindi have extensive relations with Kashmir which would make sense that they are one and the same tribe as we are discussing here.

I have the Rawalpindi Gazzetteer with me and I will check it up for you for any references to do with your tribe in there.

In the meantime, keep up the work.--Raja 20:04, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks
