Trussville is a city in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 12,924. According to a recent study by Money Magazine, Trussville is ranked as number 56 out of 100 in Money Magazine's Best Places to Live 2005 [1].

(33.621623, -86.596404)According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 57.6 km² (22.2 mi²). 57.4 km² (22.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.27%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 12,924 people, 4,588 households, and 3,817 families residing in the city. The population density was 225.0/km² (582.7/mi²). There were 4,726 housing units at an average density of 82.3/km² (213.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.77% White, 1.48% Black or African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.37% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. 0.84% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 4,588 households out of which 42.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.3% were married couples living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.8% were non-families. 15.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.11.
In the city the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 94.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 1290.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $66,943, and the median income for a family was $71,111. Males had a median income of $48,921 versus $31,806 for females. The per capita income for the city was $27,235. About 2.5% of families and 3.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.6% of those under age 18 and 3.2% of those age 65 or over.
