Trunk (motorcycle)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A motorcycle trunk is a storage compartment in the vicinity of the seat, other than panniers or saddlebags. A trunk mounted above and to the rear of the seat is also called a top box or a top case, the latter term favored by BMW riders. A top box may or may not have electric lighting systems built in for safety, and/or a backrest for a passenger. Sometimes trunk is used to refer to the storage space built into a motorcycle or motor scooter, under the seat.
A trunk can be built in on some models such as the Honda Goldwing or BMW K1200LT, but it may be added by the owner after or as a part of purchase.
Harley-Davidson riders often call a Harley's trunk a "tour pack" or a "tour pak".
