Troy Halpin (born 17/8/1973 in Sydney, Australia) is a football (soccer) player who currently plays in the New South Wales Premier League for Sydney United. He was one of the greatest talents in Australian football in the last two decades. He was one of the most skilful players plying their trade in the now-defunct National Soccer League. Halpin represented many clubs and won the championship with Sydney Olympic. He also played with Newcastle United and Perth Glory. He has played with Central Coast United in NSW competition. He wore the No.10 shirt. He was most famous for his techinical ability but disappointed coaches with his occasional low work-rate. Despite this, he won many matches off his own boot. For the Socceroos, Halpin only managed 6 caps and 1 goal. This was very disappointing considering he was one of Australia's best at the time.
