[edit] History
The school was named for Alexander Buchanan, who purchased the largest number of shares in the corporation established to build a college in Troy in 1893. The college property was sold to the Troy Village School District in 1929, under the proviso that the name "Buchanan" remain in the name of the school. Hence, "Buchanan College" became "Buchanan High School" and has so remained ever since.
