Troupville, Georgia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Troupville, Georgia is an unincorporated area in Lowndes County, Georgia, near Valdosta. Troupville was a riverboat landing at the junction of the Withlacoochee River and the Little River. Troupville was first called Lowndesville and was the original county seat.
When the railroad came and killed off the riverboats, Troupeville residents picked up their houses and moved to the railroad, founding Valdosta.
