Talk:Troon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I removed the brief mention of Stephen Fraser as it seems extraneous without additional detail -- a brief search of the wiki and Google did not turn up information about who he is, or why we should care that he is from Troon. Someone with more info should fill in the details if appropriate. PxT 21:03, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

If there are two places called Troon, perhaps we should start a disambiguation page. Douglasnicol 15:04, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

The way the first two sentences are constructed is confusing - to say there are two places called Troon and then state that 'It is situated on the west coast, about eight miles north of Ayr' is wrong. Which one are we talking about? I know it's the Troon in Scotland but the first two sentences should be rewritten to make this clear. Also, the census results don't show a 100.8% increase as stated. They show a 4.7% increase, or alternatively the 2001 population is 104.7% of the 1991 population (which would be a pretty strange way of putting it). Bmxrejects 00:17, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
