  • June 4, 2001 - Tropical Storm Allison made landfall on southeastern Texas. Allison caused record levels of rainfall along much of its path, with the resulting flooding (pictured) killing 41 and causing $5.5 billion of damage, making Allison the costliest tropical storm on record.
