Hello, my real name for starters is Jeff Williams. Though I am sure that gives away alot of information about me, I am sure I'll be okay. To give you some more general information about me, there are a few things that I find interesting, and am sure that I will continue to find interesting.

These are :

    *  The Game of Go
    *  Mind Philosophy
    *  Computational Linguistics
    *  Rhythm
    * The combination of mind philosophy and computational lingustics to form an intelligent
       computer

Aside from these few things, there is little that interests me for long periods of time. Obviously, I care about my family and my dog, and about other things (ice cream for example).

The game of go though is fascinating. I've been thinking about developing a program to play it very well, though I am likely to fail. As of this time, I would estimate that my current rank is that of a 22 kyu. Though this is horrible, I've been making steady progressive by reading the following books, all of which I recommend to anyone learning to play Go.

Books to read :

    * Go : A Complete Introduction to the Game
    * In the Begining
    * Graded Go Problems for Beginners, Vol. 1
    * 38 Basic Joseki

Then there is Mind Philosophy. To me, this is a very interesting subject. I am mainly concerned in how this related with computers generally. I have always been interested in the nature of meaning, language and how it is expressed. This brings me to my next point.

Computational Linguistics is by far the most fascinating subject. I want to so badly create some type of intelligent computer capable of mirroring, resembling, or in general being a human. Such fascination has lead me down the path to intense mind philosophy study, defining what it is to be human, the mind-body problem, how words are interpreted, what minds are composed of (words).

Then finally as a side interest is the nature of music, its interpretation, and its uses. I love to play many music games, such as Stepmania, IIDX, DDR, ITG2, Pop'n Music, and others. I also played the violin (badly) for about 5 years. This interest probably started to develop as a result of my sister's blindness. Due to her lack of sight, she is very dependent on sound, and as such sound, and music, is very important to her. Because of this, sound is also very important to me.
