Trisul (Hindi-त्रिशूल) is the group of three Himalayan mountain peaks in the westernmost Kumaun in the central part of Uttarakhand state of India near the Bageshwar district.Trisul is named after the trident of Lord Shiva.These peaks are named as Trisul I, Trisul II, and Trisul III.Trisul I, Trisul II, and Trisul III are situated on the north south ridge with Trisul I is the northmost and Trisul III is the southmost forming the Trisul massif.Nanda Ghunti and Mrigthuni are nearby other peaks.Trisul is best viewed from Kausani and Bedini Bugyal.Yugoslavs are the first to traverse from Trisul I, II. III and parajumped into the valley.Nanda Devi, is northeast of Trisul and connected by a long narrow crest.Early expeditions to the peak due to fearful porters who refused to climb the summit as they considered it sacred.

Trisul I is the highest with summit at 7172m.Climbed for the first time by 1907 by Thomas George Longstaff and his British team from Trisul glacier in the north Ridge from North of NE Spur.The coordinates of this peak are Latitude 30°18'36" N Longitude 79°46'12" E.

It is the second highest peak among Trisul group with an altitude of the summit at 6660 m. First ascent by Yugoslav team through Bidalgwar glacier through southern ridge.in 1960.The coordinates of this peak are Latitude 30°17'24" N Longitude 79°46'12" E.

It is the third highest peak among Trisul group with an altitude of the summit at 6007 m.First ascent by Yugoslav team through Bidalgwar glacier through north ridge from east in 1960.The coordinates of this peak are Latitude 30°15'00" N Longitude 79°46'12" E.

Alex Kunaver was a member of the first Yugoslav team which had climbed Trisul in 1960. In 1987 Vlasta Kunaver climbed Trisul I and was one of the para jumpers. She was the daughter of Alex Kunaver.
