Triston Jay Amero

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Triston Jay Amero (who goes by the names of Lestat Claudius de Orleans y Montevideo (the name of the main character in Anne Rice's novels) and John Scheda) is an American terrorist who was arrested after the hotel bombings that killed two people and wounded seven on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in Bolivia. He and his pregnant accomplice, Alda Riveiro, have been formally charged with murder and are being held in a maximum security prison near La Paz.

After the blasts, Bolivia's president Evo Morales declared: "There is a battle against terrorism and the government of the United States is sending Americans to do terrorism in Bolivia," he said in the eastern city of Santa Cruz. "A U.S. citizen placing bombs in hotels ... What is happening?" he asked. Morales said based on intelligence reports that both criminals work for the CIA.
