Tristan de Clermont

Tristano Chiaromonte, a French-born knight who married Catherine, youngest daughter of Mary of Enghien and Raimondo del Balzo Orsini, prince of Taranto.
Documents and sources about Tristan, whose proper first name was Bartholomew, are scarce.
He became Count of Capertino by dowry of Catherine.
In 1429 Tristan divided the inheritance between his children.
His children:
- Raymond de Clermont (Raimondello de Cleromonte), died 2 March 1443, inherited by Duchess Sancie, his sister
- Sancia married Francesco del Balzo, Duke of Andria
- Margherita married Antonio Ventimiglia, Marquess of Gerace, Grand Admiral
- Antonia, alleged somewhere to have married Thomas Palaeologus, despot of Morea, brother of Emperor Constantin and imperial byzantine heir presumptive
- Isabella married Ferrante di Aragona, future king of Naples
