Triple Crown of Motorsport

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Triple Crown of Motorsport traditionally comprises the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Graham Hill is the only driver to have completed this Triple Crown, similar to Tennis' Grand Slam, by winning all three. Hill won the the Monaco Grand Prix in 1963, 1964, 1965, 1968 and 1969; the Indianapolis 500 in 1966, and finally the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1972.

Juan Pablo Montoya, who won the Indianapolis 500 in 2000 and the Monaco Grand Prix in 2003, is the only driver active as of 2007 who has won two legs of the title. [1]
