Trip The Light Fantastic is the forthcoming third solo album by British popstar Sophie Ellis Bextor. Its details are yet to be confirmed, though it is confirmed for release on May 21, 2007 following the release of the 2nd single. The first single was "Catch You" and the second is "Me and My Imagination". A five-track sampler had been sent to radio stations. Sophie has said that the UK album will have 14 tracks. But in the past some have been left off for international fans. It may be different this time however to try to promote sales of the album in other countries and discourage imports.
Little is known about the album, but it is known that:
- There are no duets on the album
- Despite previously claiming not to be appearing on the artwork, Sophie later confirmed she would be
- Her son Sonny will not appear on the album
- She has co-written with Shelly Poole, Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling and Cathy Dennis among others
- She has worked with "a French guy called Dimitri" rumoured to be Dimitri From Paris.[2] She has also worked with Fred Schneider, Richard Barone, Kerin Smith of theaudience and Liam from the Sneaker Pimps
- She wrote over 70 songs for the album
- She will be touring the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia and Asia during 2007 to support the album and promote the singles all around the world.
- There are 14 tracks on the album
The album is actually on the HMV UK Pre-Order Albums Chart, at #8, 2 months before its official release. It has sold more than 20,000 pre-released copies.[3]
